If you have a business with a number of employees, then you need to keep track of the hours they work for reporting and payroll purposes. If you want to get a little bit high-tech, you can also use biometric registration systems that incorporate finger, hand and fingerprint readers. There are also voice recognition systems.

Depending on the configuration of your software, you should also be able to generate the following types of reports from your computerized time clock system:

- Who is in, who is out
- Individual employee reports
- Summary of hours worked
- Holidays report
- Shifts report
- Employee totals by day, week, month etc
- Approaching overtime

It's hard to imagine just how much time a computerized time clock can save your organization, until you try one.
